Heading to Shanghai? Wondering where to stay in Shanghai? We share our experience staying at the Fish Inn Bund Hotel.
Located just a short walk from the East Nanjing Road subway station and around a 10 minute walk to The Bund, The Fish Inn Bund Hotel is an ideal place for travellers visiting Shanghai. It is a cosy boutique hotel with spacious rooms and comfy beds. At 400 CNY a night for a private double room, this was a perfect choice for us when we travelled around China.
The hotel is close to Shanghai Times Square and surrounded by local supermarkets, delicious Chinese restaurants as well as the famous fast food spots for when you just fancy something naughty. The hotel is just a short walk from the Bund and a subway station, meaning you get fast and easy access to the city. Times Square around the corner is ideal for evening outs, with lots of sit down restaurants as well as vendors and a variety of shopping options.
There was plenty of space in the room and the bed was a lot more comfortable than others we slept in whilst in China. One wall was decorated with a beautiful artistic Chinese painting that gave the room a nice chic feel. Every room includes a wooden desk with electric kettle and cable TV as well as free internet that worked well enough for emails and social media. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful and were always happy to help us book a taxi or tour tickets.
A great value hotel in the middle of Shanghai. As mentioned, one night in their standard rooms cost around 400 CNY with an executive suite available from 520 CNY that includes a sofa sitting room. For families or large groups, you can book the three-bedroom apartment from 626 CNY a night.
