Flicking through our Lonely Planet Guide to LA, we read about Skooby’s hot dog – the little hot dog restaurants on the Boulevard. As we were staying approx 3 minutes from this place, we decided to try a hot dog on arriving in LA…I am not sure another day of our trip went by without us heading to this place.
I will be honest with you, the hot dog is OK. They serve it in bread that was a little too sweet and you get some good choices of toppings if you wish. But the Chilli. Now the chilli is what you go back for every day!! The chilli with cheese on their fries – IMMENSE! (I do appreciate this makes me sound slightly weird talking about chilli in this fashion but try it!)
You can also get fresh Lemonade which is really sweet and fresh and costs $3 for a large. Original hot dogs cost $4.25 and my awesome chilli cheese fries were around $3, all pretty cheap compared to cafe prices on Hollywood Boulevard.
This is a short blog today but we thought this place deserved a mention!
